Building in Public: A Journey of Grit and Vision

Being a founder is hard.

Not in the hustle-porn, “grind till you die” kind of way. But in the quiet, deeply human way — where you hold a vision that doesn’t exist yet, and every day, you try to convince others to believe in something they can’t see.

Your family.

Your spouse or partner (it’s been a journey getting Pallavi to believe).

Your team.

Your investors.

Your board.

It’s not easy. Especially when there are safer, proven paths all around you.

I look at the people crushing it in boring businesses — gas stations, ATMs, air filters, real estate. Clear ROI. Predictable cash flow. No convincing needed. No existential doubt. And often, no delayed gratification.

But for those of us building something new, something unproven — it can be lonely. Launches get delayed. Funding runs tight. Some months, there’s no money at all. And yet, we keep showing up.

Challenging the status quo.

Protecting our vision like lions.

Honestly, sometimes I wonder: does anyone else feel like this?

I think back to my friends in medicine. Fresh out of med school, overwhelmed, exhausted, wondering if it was all worth it. They’d call me late at night, staring at themselves in the mirror. I’d tell them: “You’ve got this. One day, you’ll be the best in the world at what you do.”

And today? They are.

They’re masters of their craft — practicing medicine, yes, but also practicing grit, compassion, excellence.

I hope the same for us.

Not just for me, but for my team.

For my family.

For Pallavi.

For our stakeholders.

For everyone who’s believed, and poured their blood, sweat, and tears into this wild, beautiful journey.

Because today, we take a leap forward.
