If you are experiencing slow WIFI connections, it can be the band you are running on. Sometimes toggling between 5ghz or 2.4ghz can help your situation.

Start writing or type / to choose a block

For Windows 7:

On right side of taskbar > Right-click on network icon
Choose Open Network and Sharing Center
Select Change adapter settings
Find your Wi-Fi connection (your connections will differ)
Right-click, Properties > Configure Preferred Band to 5.2GHz
Click OK

For Windows 10:

> In the lower-right corner of your screen, right click on your network icon.

NOTE: Icons may differ depending on a wired or wireless connection.

> Choose Network and Sharing Center from the Control Panel

> Select Change adapter settings

> Find your Wi-Fi connection (your connections will differ)

> Go to Properties

 > Select Configure

> Navigate to the Advanced Tab > Preferred Band Property

> Change the Value to Prefer 5.2GHz band

> Click OK

This will tell your laptop to prefer a WiFi connection that is in a ‘less congested’ airspace. The 5GHz band also allows for more quality connections for newer devices.

Good luck!
